Boundless Trails: Deep In The Scottish Highlands ‘24

Our Active Outdoor range, a walkthrough.

Tall pines, cabin life and roams wild across the Scottish Highlands. The colder temps and unruly skies mean added layers, longer sleeves and a rework of our Active Outdoor range. We take to the trail fresh, the long route round with ample time to breathe and take in the view.

For autumn ‘24, we’ve got baselayers, beanies, active tees and lightweight fleeces to keep you out there for longer. With the nights drawing in and temperatures on the downtrend, we’re all for taking the slow roam. Active movement in pursuit of good times, big skies and space to wonder.

Woodland Wanders

Nothing beats a walk in the woods. Rustling leaves underfoot, golden hues littering the canopy on a crisp morning hike with good folk. A flask is optional, a beanie advised and some cosy layers a non-negotiable. For these half-day roams, the Scrambler Recycled Softshell Trouser is a new one we’re really proud of. Made from a recycled 4-way stretch material, you’re given full freedom of movement. They’re also coated in a Nicca® PFC free water-resistant treatment to tackle misty mornings, mud splatters and damp conditions. Pull on a pair of our Tahoma Active Socks to keep toes toasty, comfortable and free to breathe. Merino Wool is a no-brainer, your feet will appreciate ‘em.

If you’re not yet fully committed to life in a beanie, the Trail Bucket Hat might be the one for up top. With plenty of stretch in the headband and an adjustable drawcord, it sits good for a full day’s trail seeking. We’ve got Black, Brown and a Palm Camo Moonlight for those into it. All three have the nod. As we’re calling out colours, let’s talk Rainstorm—a women’s waterproof, already given the Roamer’s stamp of approval. It now comes in a blocky Tidal Blue / Arctic / Dusty Olive combo.

Round & Back

Lakeside, skimming stones and shoreline explorations. A circular route under pine-fresh air and with plenty to explore off trails, just keep the water to your left and you’re on track. Our Mantra Leggings have been going down well for a little while, so we’ve introduced a pop of colour to the collection. In an Abstract Mountain Fir Tree, you’re provided the same improved waistband, making for a comfier fit in our Recycled Polyester and Elastane blend.

A soon-to-be escapism staple, the Ayla fleece was thought up to perform best this time of year. It’s a mid / outer hybrid layer that packs down small but can be worn over long sleeves and sweaters. Crafted from a Polartec® Microfleece, it’s super breathable, soft against the skin and keeps you warm without the weight. Throw over the Ocean Recycled Softshell Jacket when the wind rips up and light fades, it’s made from a soft-backed 4-way stretch recycled polyester and coated in a Nicca® PFC free water-resistant treatment. This is a go-to for longer hikes in autumn, under crisp clean air and bright skies.

The Men’s version of the Ocean is aptly named the Roamer Recycled Softshell Jacket. It has the same tech features with a slightly altered fit, black as the main colour and blue detailing. For the trip up north, our 365 Trail Trouser stepped up as they always do. Quite the pairing—plenty of pockets for snacks, local field guide and small treasures picked up along the way. Snacks, mostly.

To The Source

Flow states, explorations up river or down to where it meets the sea. Meandering along its banks seeking deeper waters to kick off boots and set down packs. Stagger in cursing the cold, flask at the ready. Advice? Always pack swim stuff. The best dips are unplanned energy revivers. Halfway-rounders, spontaneous drop trow(sers) and breath takers. To trap in the heat and cosy up after, we’ve got the Alpine Base Layer for Men and the Atlantis Base Layer for Women. They’re an active mid-weight feel in a raglan fit for easy layering and added comfort. The Polygiene StayFresh™ anti-odour finish and Scotchgard™ moisture-wicking treatment will keep you in the roam for longer. Wash less, adventure more.

If the sun does show face, an active tee can’t be beat. We’ve got a few for warmer autumn days in the women’s Sorrento and men’s Kirkwood. The latter is a solid base layer with textured finish and flat-locked seams for all-day comfort. A funky back print adds a little colour, we like that. The Sorrento is all for autumn hikes and a mix of pace. In both Black and Dusty Rose, it’s a sure fit for adventurers in need of a mid-weight active tee—made from a recycled polyester & TENCEL™ blend.

Polartec® Power Stretch®

For the wind chill, cooler nights and crisp mornings. Roams in the hills, following tide lines and ridgelines in no rush. The Solitude and Wintergreen collections are a back-and-forth with purveyors of leading thermal wear, Polartec®. We’ve collaborated on the Thermal Pro® for a good few seasons, so now dial into this 4-way stretch, breathable and moisture-wicking layer aptly named ‘Power Stretch®’. For men and women, we’ve lined up a classic 1/2 zip fleece, hooded version and pair of active leggings. The collection is built to be a core staple for the roamer. Layered underneath a favourite jacket or oversized fleece, the fabric is durable and built to last a long time.

Engineered for resilience and comfortable warmth with a low-friction, highly breathable and moisture-wicking dual surface.

The added pockets are there to house keys, phone and trail snacks, keeping the form functional with some added colour along the hem and cuffs. Opting for black means you can seamlessly slip the Solitude or Wintergreen collection into your already built-out autumn / winter ensemble. Your everyday wearers, escapism staples and cosiest outer layers—all made better with Power Stretch® underneath.
